Eaton celebrates the opening of new East Asia facility in Singapore
Eaton recently celebrated the opening of its new East Asia facility at the Interlocal Centre in Pasir Panjang, Singapore.  The new location brings together approximately 200 Eaton employees, contributing to greater team collaboration, operating efficiency and opportunities for innovation. The facility is ideally situated between the Central Business District, the National University of Singapore and the port terminals.

Leading the opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony were Eaton’s Revathi Advaithi, chief operating officer, Electrical Sector; Brian Brickhouse, president, Electrical Sector – Asia Pacific and Jimmy Yam, vice president, Sales, for East Asia.  Also in attendance was the guest of honor Lim Kok Kiang, assistant managing director for the Singapore Economic Development Board.

“Eaton is committed to Singapore. It is a focus market and a strategic business hub for us,” said Revathi. “The country’s business-friendly environment and drive for innovation provide a strategic backdrop for investment and growth, both locally and in the wider East Asia region.”

Revathi added that with decades of expertise and a deep understanding of the Asian markets, Eaton continues to strengthen its presence in the region and is now well positioned to provide businesses in Singapore and the region with advanced power management technologies and services tailored to the Asian business environment.

“Mega-trends like Industry 4.0, tropical data centers and green energy storage sources are on the rise,” stated Jimmy. “For Eaton, the core purpose of our business is to consistently offer solutions to new and emerging energy management challenges driven by these trends.”  Jimmy also emphasized that the Smart Grid is one such solution that effectively distributes electrical power across homes, buildings and factories, providing a safer and more reliable power distribution network.

Customers and partners from Singapore and across the region, notably Indonesia, attended the event and were given a tour of the facility showcasing Eaton’s electrical products and solutions, manufacturing and utilities; and an overview of Eaton’s commitment to safety and security.

The event generated extensive media coverage, which included DataCenterNews Asia, Control Engineering Asia, CIO Asia, Computerworld and Zaobao. Zaobao is the largest Singapore-based Chinese language newspaper with online readership of approximately 1.4 million monthly and print circulations of approximately 500,000.  “The opening was strong exposure for Eaton,” concluded Eaton’s Brenda Cong, marketing communications director, Electrical Sector – APAC.
