Through this event, Eaton was also expanding its latest offerings to accommodate the rising mega-trend of tropical data centers and energy storage sources to the Indonesian market as Indonesia, which is on its way to becoming the largest digital economy in Southeast Asia by 2020, is one of Eaton’s key priority markets in the region.

Jimmy Yam, Vice President, Sales, Electrical Sector, East Asia for Eaton, said, “With its rapid digital transformation, Indonesia has to be able to manage its power consumption to ensure sustainable power. We believe that power management would be the key to driving growth in the country’s digital ecosystem. It would be essential for sustaining the digital transformation momentum in the midst of the government’s on-going digital infrastructure development to increase electrical capacity and internet accessibility across the nation.”

Eaton also offers solutions to answer today’s most critical electrical power management challenges including data center and utilities. “Data center is at the heart of a digital ecosystem because this is where data generated is processed, stored and analyzed. It is not only essential for the current operations but also a key driver for business growth once analyzed. We have the technology to facilitate more efficient data centers to enable big data analytics that can provide necessary insights to drive business objectives,” Yam added.

“As implementations of the digital ecosystem continue to expand, which include Internet of Things (IoT) and Smart City, reliability in power distribution should be facilitated. One such solution to ensuring reliability of power distribution is the smart grid. It would effectively distribute electrical power across homes, buildings and factories, providing a safer and more reliable power distribution network,” Yam emphasized.

As a reiteration of its commitment to the region, Eaton recently inaugurated its new office in Singapore, marking the expansion of its East Asia headquarters in the city.
