Lighting Design Bring Aesthetics, Energy-Efficiency to Chic Hilton Columbus Downtown Hotel

When guests first walk into the newly constructed Hilton Columbus Downtown, the first thing they notice is the sleek, lavish and high-end atmosphere. But beyond just form, this boutique-like hotel offers function, utilizing a range of energy-efficient technologies to significantly reduce its carbon footprint. One of the biggest impacts in reducing the modern facility’s energy consumption was the strategic use of LED options, including 15-watt Portfolio LED downlights in a plethora of guest room entryways, bedrooms and bathrooms. The result is a total power density of approximately 20 percent less than the energy code and the Portfolio LED downlights are providing 50 percent energy savings relative to a comparable compact fluorescent downlight.

Renovating with Smart and Straightforward Lighting Controls

In an effort to revitalize downtown Detroit, the Chrysler House, a historic 23-story skyscraper owned by entrepreneur and philanthropist Dan Gilbert, and many of the commercial office buildings are being renovated. With system integration necessary to coordinate the lighting schedule at the Chrysler House with the other Gilbert owned buildings in the city, system flexibility was important to meet the immediate needs of the building as well as future needs as the building and tenants evolve. The Greengate™ lighting control system was selected and now providing zone control, scene selection, status reports and system integration, while future controllability demands may include greater degrees of customized control and improved energy efficiency.

Available in seven color choices, the decorative accent color can be mounted directly on the SkyRidge™ LED luminaire to provide visual cues, brand identity, directional awareness or as an artistic expression.

McGraw-Edison MAQ Marquis™ LED

Now DLC qualified, the Marquis LED luminaire has been updated, offering an increase in lumen output and efficacy. The versatile sign and flood luminaire is available in multiple distributions and configurations for uplight and downlight applications.

Metalux SkyRidge™ LED Series

The Metalux SkyRidge LED Series has added three new lumen packages (5300, 5900 and 6400) for the 2' x 4' fixture. The series now offers eight lumen packages, providing the ability to address more applications.

Sure-Lites EUX Series

The architectural EUX Exit series is universal mount, easy to install and all housing and lens options are included. Long life LED electronics and nickel cadmium battery technology greatly reduces maintenance.

Shaper 842 Lapel Pendant

Available in 24-inch and 36-inch nominal diameters, the Lapel LED pendant with a central 28-wattt downlight is available in Aluminum Frost and Matte White interior finishes with exterior finishes available.
