Eaton Showcases Integrated Lighting Controls at 2014 LIGHTFAIR® International

If you missed the 2014 LIGHTFAIR® International (LFI) conference this month in Las Vegas, Nevada, Eaton’s Cooper Lighting business showcased its intuitive, intelligent control solutions. Visitors to the booth learned how the lighting business is integrating control systems throughout its portfolio and could view high-performing lighting solutions that help deliver new levels of performance, quality and return on investment. This included the award-winning WaveStream™ LED technology and the first Wi-Fi-based control solution. In addition, the company showcased a new breakthrough Metalux high bay industrial luminaire that sets industry-leading efficiency levels, delivering more than 200 lumens per watt and up to 70,000 delivered lumens.

Two WaveStream™ LED Products Awarded in the 2014 LIGHTFAIR® Innovation Awards®

The McGraw-Edison TopTier™ LED Parking Garage and Canopy Luminaire and Metalux SkyBar™ High Bay Luminaire have been named winners in the 2014 LFI Innovation Awards®. Presented at the conference on June 3, the competition features the industry’s most innovative products and designs introduced during the last 12 months.

Washington State University Finds Versatility with Eaton’s Greengate® Lighting Control System

The Washington State University (WSU) campus in Pullman, Washington is a nationally recognized research university comprised of over 630 buildings and the campus is growing.

With many new construction and renovation projects recently completed, ongoing or in planning, the projects are diverse in function, ranging from a renovation of Martin Stadium, to a new residence hall, to the recently completed Veterinary and Biomedical Research building. One commonality shared between these buildings, and many others on the WSU campus, is the Greengate® lighting control system from Eaton’s Cooper Controls business. The system offers the proven reliability trusted by both construction and facilities teams at WSU for nearly a decade, meeting the unique and changing needs of the first-rate research facility.

Call for Entries for the 38th Annual SOURCE Awards Competition

Eaton’s Cooper Lighting business is now accepting entries for the 38th Annual SOURCE Awards national lighting design competition. The competition, which focuses on furthering the understanding, knowledge and function of lighting as a primary element in design, is open to all lighting designers, architects, engineers, professional designers and consultants who use lighting and controls products from Eaton’s Cooper Lighting business in interior or exterior design projects. Students currently enrolled in any of these disciplines are also eligible to enter projects based on conceptual lighting designs. Entries must be postmarked on or before January 30, 2015, and winners will be announced in May 2015 at LIGHTFAIR® International in New York, New York.

Eaton’s Halo LED downlights and Residential Wiring Devices Featured on Designing Spaces™

As part of Designing Spaces™ “Think Green” series, Halo LED downlights and Eaton's residential wiring devices were featured this month on the home improvement television series that travels all over the country redefining and redesigning space. Designing Spaces visits a house in Smyrna, Georgia and speaks with Jodi Alston from Eaton's Cooper Lighting and Jack Larsh from Eaton's Wiring Devices businesses, educating consumers on energy-saving solutions including the latest advancements and innovations in LED lighting and controls for a home. Specifically, the Eaton team discusses the Halo RL56 and RA56 series, Halo SLD Surface Downlights, AL Series all load dimmers and occupancy/vacancy sensors.

The 6-inch LED series features new construction, remodel and retrofit solutions with a choice of 1200 and 1800 lumen packages, 80 or 90 CRI, four color temperature options, a universal driver with phase cut and 0-10V dimming and a variety of trim finishes.

Shaper 840 Lantern Pendant

Available in 36- and 48-inch diameters, the Lantern LED metal pendant with indirect uplight is offered in four color temperatures and in a variety of metal and painted finishes.

Corelite Divide Recessed Series

Featuring WaveStream™ LED technology and a 2.5-inch low profile, the series is offered in 2' x 2', 2' x 4' and 1' x 4' sizes, three color temperatures and five lumen packages. High performance distribution allows for wider spacings.

Offered in multiple outputs up to 6500 lumens, the tool-less LD8ART LED retrofit kit converts existing 8-inch HID, incandescent and compact fluorescent to energy-saving LED and is available in four color temperatures and 80 and 90 CRI.

Eaton’s Cooper Lighting business recently won 15 Awards for Design Excellence (ADEX) by Design Journal magazine – an international trade resource for interior designers, architects and facility managers. The award program is one of the largest for product design of furniture, fixtures and finishes. Eaton is the most decorated company in the competition’s history.
